FELICIA - TRAVEL WRITING & PHOTOGRAPHY
I was born in Toronto, Canada and grew up in a very close-knit Italian/Mexican family. I loved the photography courses I took in high school but decided to go to university for Business Management at Ryerson instead. I was learning depreciation methods in accounting when I would have rather been developing in a dark room. And this whole do-what-you're-good-at-not-what-you-love thing went on for years.
At 25, I was Canada's first Finance Management Trainee with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. I moved more than 3,000 kms away from all my friends and family to Edmonton so that I could to start a finance career in the hospitality industry. Everything changed for me in Edmonton. I met Wes there. I came to terms with the fact that I may never be happy as an accountant. I stopped drooling over people's travel photos and started planning for this blog. We saved every penny, quit our jobs and set off in 2015 on the first of many adventures.
More than anything, I hope this little corner of the internet inspires others to do more of what makes them happy and to consider travelling to places off the beaten path (as clichΓ© as that sounds, it's true). With each post I write, my goal is to help whoever is reading it in some way. I want you to take the right colectivo in Mexico, fall for cities you can't pronounce in Poland and even consider travelling to work for free.
