As these months of travel pass us by, we’re finding it increasingly hard to remember where we’ve been let alone what we even did there! It has been one heck of a year. In 2017 we visited over 10 countries and 30 cities together, a dozen islands and a bunch of national parks. There were road trips and rainstorms, precious moments with family and our longest stretch apart. Some days were planned but many took us completely by surprise and these 12 unexpected experiences are the highlights of our 2017 travels.
Our travel plans may have us in Europe this winter but we’re dreaming of warming places and can’t help but think of escaping to our favourite winter destination. After backpacking through Mexico for 6 months, we’ve seen that there is no shortage of places to spend your winter holidays in but some definitely stand out more than others. For those looking beyond the all-inclusive resorts, the colours and charm of Sayulita, Mexico are certainly worth considering. Today we have Allison of Wolves and Waterfalls sharing 6 more reasons to visit this gem of a beach town.
We’ve just spent two weeks living in a van and I can’t think of a better way to explore the beauty of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our campervan gave us the freedom to stop wherever we wanted to without having to stick to any tour schedule or group itinerary. But if there’s one thing we learned, it’s that
we can go without a shower for 5 days two weeks is hardly enough time to spend in such a breathtaking part of the world. Everywhere you look feels like a picture-perfect postcard setting, sheep traffic jams and all. Our campervan was great for exploring the coasts and countryside so today we’re sharing our Ireland road trip itinerary and photos to inspire you to give #vanlife a try.
Because we often get questions on how to save money while travelling or how to travel for longer periods of time, we thought this would be a good day to share our experience with Workaway. This was our first time volunteering abroad but I really don’t think it will be our last. For insights on what it was like to live with a local family in Poland plus tips on how you can travel using Workaway, keep reading!
“How did you two meet?” and “What’s the story behind Feather and the Wind?” are among the most popular questions we get asked from our friends and followers. Today, I’m answering both (but I get sidetracked easily so this might turn into a long read).
Gearing up for this year’s Cinco de Mayo festivities? With the popular May 5th holiday just around the corner, many are dusting off sombreros and planning which parade, festival or bar to drink at this year. But decades before the margaritas and fajitas, there was the Battle of Puebla and Mexico’s unlikely victory: the real meaning behind Cinco de Mayo.
