As these months of travel pass us by, we’re finding it increasingly hard to remember where we’ve been let alone what we even did there! It has been one heck of a year. In 2017 we visited over 10 countries and 30 cities together, a dozen islands and a bunch of national parks. There were road trips and rainstorms, precious moments with family and our longest stretch apart. Some days were planned but many took us completely by surprise and these 12 unexpected experiences are the highlights of our 2017 travels.
We’ve just spent two weeks living in a van and I can’t think of a better way to explore the beauty of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our campervan gave us the freedom to stop wherever we wanted to without having to stick to any tour schedule or group itinerary. But if there’s one thing we learned, it’s that
we can go without a shower for 5 days two weeks is hardly enough time to spend in such a breathtaking part of the world. Our campervan was great for exploring the coasts and countryside so today we’re sharing our Ireland road trip itinerary and photos to inspire you to give #vanlife a try.

For insights on what it was like to live with a local family in Poland plus tips on how you can travel using Workaway, keep reading!
In the span of about two weeks, we went from having never heard of Lviv, Ukraine to spontaneously looking for an apartment to rent because we didn’t want to leave. Even after spending a month exploring this beautiful European city, we left feeling like we had only scratched the surface. There’s a lot more to Ukraine than meets the eye so we’re sharing 21 unique things to do in Lviv that we loved and hope you’ll enjoy too.
Despite having first heard about Blagaj years ago (thank you, Pinterest), I never really knew much about the town except for the fact that the photos looked gorgeous. Nonetheless, it was added to our never-ending list of travel goals and finally ticked off this month while visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was 2:00am in Split, Croatia and not only were Wes and I wide awake but we were out at the bus station waiting for our new friends and ready for another adventure. We had no expectations but knew that we’d have a fun day and would say yes to any and all opportunities that would come our way. What we didn’t know is that the events that would unfold over the next 24 hours would end with us being featured on the national evening news in Croatia…
