The Best FREE Instagram Spots in Toronto

With only a few days left in the city, we set out to find the best free Instagram spots in Toronto. We love taking photos and it's no secret that we're on a tight budget so it was fun to explore downtown Toronto and take pictures of the most photogenic (and free!) spots around.

Art Gallery of Ontario

Normally there is a charge to visit the AGO but on Wednesday nights (6-9pm) entrance is FREE! The Galleria Italia is one of my favourite spots in the whole city.

Gooderham Building

One of the most iconic buildings in Toronto, this historic flat iron building on Wellington Street is fun to shoot from different angles.

Graffiti Alley

It's easy to walk right past this hidden alley and miss all of the colourful artwork but it's worth checking out if you're downtown. For more graffiti in Toronto, head to the alleys at Kensington Market and the East Side Mural.

Sugar Beach

Believe it or not, Toronto has its fair share of beaches but the most picturesque is Sugar Beach thanks to these cute pink umbrellas.

Kensington Market

Kensington Market is one of the most eccentric neighbourhoods in the city. There are plenty of great free Instagram spots like this garden car and colourful graffiti.

Distillery District

Just east of the city is the Distillery District - a neighbourhood closed off to traffic and open for pedestrians to roam the cobblestone roads and historic architecture.

Brookfield Place

Brookfield Place is an office complex in the Financial District of the city and the main hall is full of light and these unique arches that make for a great symmetrical photo.

Ireland Park

If you don't want to pay for the island ferry to get great shots of the city skyline, just head to Ireland Park. It's right by the city centre airport and also has unique sculptures that commemorate Toronto's Irish immigrants of 1847.

Harbourfront

There is always something going on in Toronto and the Harbourfront is full of parks, activities and events that make for great Instagram photos by the water.

Chinatown

Walk through the markets in Chinatown and you'll feel like you've been transported straight to Asia. Not only will you see unique fruits and vegetables but you'll also find great bargains on souvenirs and trinkets.
